A Bulawayo man has warned men to be careful before they commit themselves to marriage.
Munyaradzi Mureyi confessed to being a victim of such marriage as his lover dumped him and sought protection from courts barely a month after the union.
The Bulawayo based Mureyi (34) says he was duped into love by Auxilia Chada and paid the price for it.
“I was in a relationship with this woman from 2013 and then had an official and legal marriage under chapter 511 at the Zvishavane regional Court in May.
“Surprisingly just before the end of the month we tied the knot, my wife was already acting weird.
“That same month I got a peace order and divorce papers and yet I hadn’t even wronged her,” said Mureyi. Mureyi had even extended her two roomed house in Zvishavane into a better and comfortable place. “when I met this woman she had a two roomed house and as someone who fell in love and was looking at marriage I decided to develop her property hoping this was now our place to stay.
“ I was supposed to build my own house in Gweru but out of love I opted to build hers. “What disturbed me was I had to be contacted by friends after they saw an online story saying that my marriage was in shambles and yet I never knew that. “ I was staying with her and never saw any of this coming.”
Meanwhile, she is now sending text messages to Mureyi claiming that she has withdrawn the peace order and divorce. “Ndazofunga mushe, chiuya using (sign) mapaper ndokupa mari.
“I will give you everything. “Chiuya ugare neni, handiti haudi kusiyana neni, ndakaita withdrawal, answer your phone and talk to me.” Mureyi said the move is because she now fears she could lose some valuables if the matter goes to court.
“She knows she might lose some things, but I have moved on now.
“She is a dangerous being and I warn other men not to fall in the same trap and be on the lookout for these kind of women. In response she said: “I can’t comment on that issue anymore for reasons best known to myself I have forgotten about it and don’t want to do with it anymore.”
