Fellow musicians and friends have passed their heartfelt condolences following the death of gospel diva Joyce Simeti. She succumbed to chest pains yesterday at Arcadia medical centre, Harare.

Flamboyant gospel rapper artiste Mudiwa Hood described Simeti?s loss as a blow to the Christian Community. ?The death of sister Joyce came to me as a great shock,

 she was one of the female gospel musicians who have been ministering the word of God with power. Her death is not just a loss to her family but the Christian community as a whole,? he said.

Gospel artiste Sebastian Magacha said he was at a loss for words after Simeti?s death. ?I have shared the stage with sister Simeti on various platforms and our relationship developed from being a colleague to more of a sister to me, May her soul rest in peace,?

he said. Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro of the Ebenezer fame also took time to narrate his last encounter with Simeti. ?

At our recent DVD launch, she was jovial as ever as she hugged mhamha and customarily bowed as she greeted me. We also saw her three days later again at the Ebenezer celebrations at Harare gardens dancing the day away throughout the function alongside Pax Gomo. Later, 

we had a little chat and discussed on featuring her on our next collaboration effort. Shockingly, I have received sad news that Joyce Simeti is no more. This is just too painful, in moments like these the Zimbabwe gospel music fraternity needs more of the comforting Holy Spirit,? he wrote.

Mr Green ambassador, Dereck Mpofu, who has worked with Simeti added: ?So it?s confirmed. Our sister Joyce Simeti is no more. Gutted. She went to work this morning (yesterday) and left coz of heart problem. Hatina mushe panyika?. Fellow artiste Ammanda who doubled as a backing vocalists for a number of artistes was equally gutted. ?

I am shocked by this untimely death sister ndarwadziwa. Indeed am shocked rest in peace Joyce Simeti may your soul find rest in the Lord. Revered music promoter Barbra Chikosi aka Mama Red Rose said: ?She was a joyful woman, a friend to all gospel divas that we worked with. Mourners are gathered at No 27 Ambleside road, Braeside.
