War Ambazonia: These 'Betis' Who Support The Separatists

We hear a lot of French-speaking Cameroonians in the separatist crisis that has shaken the country for a year. Profile of an unnatural sympathy where everyone will recognize each other.

The current secessionist crisis in Cameroon is a curiosity in the genre.

Thus one could indeed describe the whole of Cameroon. This is because the desire for state and national emancipation of certain people from the Anglophone area is supported by French-speaking Cameroonians.

Not out of hatred of the first, but by genuine affectation, love and all that makes that we can agree with someone. Except the logic to which this attitude escapes completely.
War Ambazonia: These 'Betis' Who Support The Separatists
Apart from a few secessionist activists who, for the most part, do not speak out, most of the secessionist controversy is thus carried by French-speaking Cameroonians.

To the paradox of a cause that will inevitably split their country and separate them from these brothers, they encourage the movement. Their activism and sympathy for the separatist cause may well defy logic, but they are less logical with themselves.

"Everything but Paul Biya"

This is a well-known slogan of the circles of protest in Cameroon. He knows a new ardor every presidential election watch and the year 2018 is. But it expresses, or even betrays, the state of mind of those who support the secessionist movement.

We will talk about a lack of measurement, analytical deficiencies or lack of political vision. Some evoke the lack of patriotism.

They are the same people who have always challenged the Yaoundé regime. They are therefore usually members of an opposition party. Maybe more activists and sympathizers than anything else. Since the difference is worth weighing is electoral.

They are hypersensitive and adept at anything that can upset the governing system. Neither common sense, nor ethics, nor morality, much less truth, seems to impose itself on them.

Disappointed by the many scattered and unsuccessful initiatives of the Cameroonian opposition to shake Paul Biya. But they never despaired of seeing him fall. On the contrary, they live only for that. Some would even say that they only live on that.

Because the dispute sometimes feeds his man in Cameroon. And, it seems, very good. It's not a simple sight of the mind. They are therefore often activists and members of associations for the defense of human rights and freedoms.

Human rights and freedom being defined in Cameroon as what is against Paul Biya and all those who are related to him. Politically and tribally means.

They work with or are funded by international NGOs. They are abroad and benefit from or are seeking political refugee status.

They are also scrutinizing the appetizing international funding and benefits for whistleblowers and other human rights activists and freedoms.

Each publication, each comment, each intervention is therefore vital. And too bad if it is Cameroon that toast. This obviously does not detract from the seriousness of some of the facts that are being decried.

No sorting, as long as it night

For them, nothing beats the end of the Biya diet. And anything that suggests this happy prospect is worth the compromise, any compromise being possible.

This desire is undoubtedly legitimate, with regard to the entire work of the tenant of the Palace of Unity. To which many drifts do not escape unfortunately. Including the prospect of a split in Cameroon.
They celebrate all the failures of Cameroon as a victory, never too much, against the "dictatorship" of Yaounde. They dance when Cameroon loses a football match.

They push a sigh of relief and jubilant with the Nigerians, when they win over Cameroon in the women's CAN final in Yaounde.

They do not hide their bitterness when the Indomitable Lions win the CAN in Gabon. They scrutinize the slightest element ridiculing Cameroon. Anything that might affect the reputation of their country is celebrated.

Finally not everything! Exclusively concerning Paul Biya and his government. But again, not quite. Except, everything that touches their tribe.
They relativize what concerns another tribe than that of the old president. But is relayed, with great support of publication, which touches the natives of the ethnicity of the head of the State.

A case of

Car tribe in Cameroon, the challenge is also and above all a matter of tribe. And this parameter is not immune to the support given to secessionists.
There are some in the tribe of the president, who hopes, with the division of Cameroon, to have their revenge on these brothers who they feel have not benefited enough.

Frustrated or blocked by a congener, close to the governing system, this hatred is transmitted "naturally" to the Nation. Leave it to break up.

Those disappointed with the system who, having lost their place under the sun, remember all the inefficiencies of the system from which they have benefited so much. These are the adulated social networks.

These betis who dare to say something other than the common "presidential" siblings, by instinct, and not less as miserable as the rest of the Republic.

They whose condition is often worse. An idea sold at the time under the wacky name of "organizing country".

Emblems of a finding without a tribe, they are forbidden any other analysis than that which programs the death of Cameroon. Since the Biya system is assimilated. Any rational and contrary idea would disappoint the ethnic group of the protest.

Because, in Cameroon, there is an ethnic group that has the monopoly of protest. The one who never had anything. Who deserves everything and what she is weaned from.

These are the most numerous. At home, it's instinctive. As long as he is not one of them who is in business, nothing works. And where one of theirs is questioned, it is the system, or better, Paul Biya, which is the problem. When we do not simply evade the question.

All they have is the fruit of their only work. What they are not, it is the fault with the tribalism of which they are the privileged target.

And what others have, what they are, is usurpation, the fruit of systemic excesses.

So, they stand together and aggregate all the frustrations that, oddly enough, do not tell them how common and general is the harm.

There is finally the exception to the rule. Which could be constituted of the extreme majority of the citizens. Frustrated all, or at least should be, by a system of agony that risk taking with him Cameroon.

But to the end of the recrimination, unless it has become a habitus, they can not stop, or even motivate their anger.

They have a little excuse: it can seem difficult to be for Cameroon without giving the impression of not being for this system.

And here is all the harm that this identity crisis with neocolonialist hints. But Cameroon must remain the principle. The rest being axioms that come to be deployed there.

The post-independence system did not understand it and we have arrived at what we are today. The worst could be coming, if this generation did not understand it either.
