Sparrowhawk: A New Charge Held Against Atangana Kouna

A new charge has been lodged against Basile Atangana Kouna. Detained in the central prison of Yaoundé since late March, the former Minister of Energy and Water will now answer the facts that are alleged against him in two jurisdictions to believe the daily "Mutations".

In its publication on Tuesday, the newspaper reveals that Basile Atangana will appear before the Special Criminal Court (TCS), where two counts of indictment against him, but also before the Court of First Instance of Yaounde.

In front of this last jurisdiction, the minister would be accused of illegal emigration according to the newspaper.

A few days before his arrest, Basile Atangana Kouna had been announced on the run to Canada while running a ban on his leaving Cameroon. He will finally be arrested on March 22 in a hotel in Nigeria and extradited to Cameroon.

His exploitation revealed that the former minister had benefited from the complicity of an intelligence agent and a priest in his flight.

Excluded from the government on March 2, Basile Atangana Kouna is accused of prevarication and squandering of public wealth.
