The latest news is that computers, judged by poor public opinion and excessively expensive, have led Paul Biya, the donor, to be angry at his minister.

The latter is also accused by members of some civil society organizations for diverting part of the money for computer manufacturing. On the basis of these suspicions, the SDF, political party leader of the opposition, asked the President of the Republic, "the opening of an independent investigation on the purchase and distribution of computers to students by the Minister of Higher Education "
Reacting to these suspicions, Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo explained to fellow journalist Simon Meyanga, that the procedure of paying bills for the manufacture of computers gave no opportunity for embezzlement.

"I recall that the President of the Republic did not give sacks and bags of billions to the Minister of Higher Education to buy computers in China. These computers are made in China by Chinese funds unlocked by Eximbank China and manufactured by a Chinese state enterprise.
