In recent days, a rumor announcing the death of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.circule in the Cameroonian press and on social networks.

According to cameroon-concord, this rumor was fueled by the Collective of Democratic and Patriotic Organizations of Cameroonians in the Diaspora (CODE). This organization claimed that the president was seen in a Swiss clinic.

The group, which claimed to keep its information from reliable sources, said the President had left Yaoundé discreetly with his wife for the Swiss canton.

The CODE also added that the presidential couple would have been "located in a very chic clinic in Switzerland. All the staff at this hospital are very closely monitored.

This organization, created in Brussels, Belgium, is campaigning for the departure of Paul Biya.

However, no communiqué from the Director of the Civil Cabinet announced the departure of the President. According to actucameroun, Paul Biya returned to Yaounde Monday from his village Mvokmeka.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the Cameroonian president is the victim of rumors announcing his death. In 2004, a Cameroonian living in the United States announced the death of Paul Biya on the internet.
