Presidential 2018: Paul Biya Uncertain?

True to its habits, at essentially five months, the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (CPDM), did not reveal the name of its presidential candidate, in principle, next October.

Without really knowing whether he will be a candidate for his own succession, comrades of the outgoing president, in fact, say Paul Biya candidate for his own succession.

As a result, there is a strong mobilization of activists and leaders of the CPDM for his re-election.
Presidential 2018: Paul Biya Uncertain?
This through multiple calls to his candidacy, without any caution and without glimpsing the least bad surprise.

During the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the CPDM, we saw men and women from the flaming torch party, across the national triangle, calling Paul Biya's candidacy for the next presidential election.

Responding to a question from a French journalist, on the occasion of the visit of François Hollande, then President of the French Republic, in Cameroon in 2015, the Head of State had left the suspense hanging over his political future.

However, Paul Biya had hinted that "does not last in power who wants but who can." He said later that "the presidential election, so certain, is still distant, and when the time comes, I'll tell you if I'm a candidate or not."

A statement that had sparked low maneuvers destabilizing his regime. Opposite, however, opposition political parties are holding their congress or convention, one after the other, to invest their candidates in the 2018 presidential election.

Thus after Akere Muna with the "Now" movement, Joshua Osih of the Social Democratic Front (Sdf) and Maurice Kamto, the leader of the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC), were officially designated by their political parties respective, as plenipotentiaries.

The latest, Maurice Kamto, former Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice, renowned academic and lawyer, talks about the reconstruction of Cameroon. This does not thrill the CPDM where the debate around the organization of the Congress has quietly run.
