Cameroon: Bus Transporting Fleeing Anglophones Set Ablaze in Loum

A bus transporting persons fleeing from the ongoing violence in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon was reportedly set ablaze by unidentified men on Monday in the locality of Loum, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

Sources say the bus was stopped by unidentified men passing for council workers before ordering all passengers out and setting the bus which was reportedly coming from Bamenda ablaze.

No group of persons have claimed responsibility for the act so far ;but the locality of Loum in the Littoral region that shares boundary with Tombel in the South West Region has witnessed scaring flashes of violence from the Anglophone part of the country.
Loum is host to a vast number of internally displaced persons from Tombel as a result of the ongoing violence in that part of the country.

The Governors of the North West and South West Regions both stepped in at the weekend to assure their respective populations of safety measures put in place to guarantee protect them and their property.

However, persons could still be seen leaving the regions on Monday to safer cities as the violence continues to gain grounds.
