The kidnapping of 10 people in Kumba, Grandma Department on Tuesday, occurred during school hours. Armed individuals entered the "Lords" bilingual high school and left with nine students and a high school teacher, reports the prefect of the Meme, Ntou Ndong.

"Once seized, the prefect who was in full staff interrupted his security meeting to put the law enforcement forces behind them. What was done and at a late hour, the teams were able to release three of the students.

The teams neutralized two of these assailants, destroyed their base and the bikes they used to commit packages in the city. Without having slept, these same teams went back to the field to search for the other attackers who were on the run, as well as students, "he says.

The other hostages were abandoned along the way by the fleeing attackers. "When they realized that the men in uniform were behind them, they abandoned these students and taught them to flee. The children joined their respective families including the teacher who was injured in the foot. He was shot there. To date, everyone has been released thanks to the bravery of our law enforcement and security forces. "
